I just received a estimated arrival time for my silver E-M5 w/ lens! It is estimated to arrived between May 31st and June 1st. Crossing my fingers. I placed the order March 30th.

I saw Sasha lying next to Cooper as I was walking up the stairs. She looks very comfortable and relaxed, but her eyes are peeking with interest and wondering what I will do next.
I chose to make this photo monochrome, because some strong colors in the background were too distracting.
Eliminating the background or at least moving it further back together with Cooper facing the lens would have improved the picture.

Shoot for the Moon
There is something magical about large full moons. It is a great opportunity to use your long lens and capture a moon crater or two. It is a common misconception that you need long exposures when shooting the moon, 1/125 sec is often plenty of time for getting all the details.
A long telephoto lens helps, but you can easily get some great shots with a 150mm lens (300mm equivalent).
Use a tripod to avoid camera shake and set your timer to 2 or 12 sec depending upon how stable your tripod is.
Take extra shots as not all of them will be in focus. Crop 100-200% when choosing your image for editing.
A clear night is great for seeing every detail, but the clouds can sometimes add great drama to a otherwise boring moon shot.

Hermosa Beach, CA

My sister was visiting LA for the first time in 6 years, so it was a rare opportunity to capture a nice family photo. Somehow Batman (aka Kimberly) snug into the picture and gave a “nice” picture some flare.
The guy in the background is a little distracting and the shallow field of focus, combined with the bench being at an angle resulted in Kimberly’s face being a tad blurry. I do love this lens bookeh and ability to shoot in low light situations.

E-M5 Amazon Order Delayed

I just received an email from Amazon.com, informing me that the delivery of my Silver E-M5 with the 12-50mm lens is delayed till May 30, 2012. I know there has been a great shortage of the silver kits and was hoping to receive the camera by mid May, but I didn’t realize it was this bad.
I guess we just have to be a little more patient and wait for “the best mirrorless camera”. I changed my order from black to silver on March 30th, fyi. Big mistake, a different camera color is not worth the extra month and a half wait.
